The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
We are excited to share with you two great names of our 2022 presenters: Heather Leigh and Tim Hartshorne.
Dr. Timothy Hartshorne
Central Michigan University
Tim Hartshorne is a professor of psychology emeritus at Central Michigan University. His doctoral degree is from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied with Guy Manaster, a noted Adlerian. He became President of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology in June 2020. He has been writing and speaking on issues of grief and loss for 30 years, since the deaths of two of his children in 1992. For 12 years, he led his local chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for bereaved parents and siblings.
Dr. Heather Leigh
Mount Mary University
Heather Leigh, DAT, is Associate Professor and Department Chair for Art Therapy at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. She is a Board Certified art therapist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (IL). Dr. Leigh earned her Professional Doctorate in Art Therapy from Mount Mary, her MA in Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, and her BA in English from UW-Madison. A committed Adlerian, she presented several times at NASAP and also taught at ICASSI. Much of Dr. Leigh's clinical experience has been with elders and their caregivers for whom grief and loss are central.
The Adler Academy of Minnesota will once again host an interactive learning experience at the beautiful Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Dr. Harthorne and Dr. Leigh will lead participants through a live* program focused on grief and the grieving process from an Adlerian perspective.
*We intend an in-person experience and are actively discussing whether the program will also be offered virtually to open it up to more participants.
