Planning is underway for the Second Annual Minnesota Adlerian Conference.  We are in the process of securing a speaker (keep your eyes and ears open for further details!)  But there are some details we can share now:

·       The dates are Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th, 2018.

·       We will once again be at the beautiful University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

·       Food will be provided, along with time to enjoy each other and the Arboretum.

·       The number of participants will be limited to allow for a more intimate experience.

·       We will once again be taking a deep dive into Adlerian counseling theory and techniques through lectures, live demonstrations, and self-practice.

If you attended the First Annual Conference in September this year, you know how special this conference will be. Don’t be left out - Mark your calendars today for September 29th and 30th of next year.

What Made November 18th Great?

In June of 2017, AAM was formed by Marina B. and John R.

Early on there was a shared passion to create, and promote an ADVANCED ADLER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. The desire was to take Adler's Psychology and Philosophy farther into the community and the World. It was also meant to challenge and deepen the grasp of Adler, among basically trained Adlerians.

On 11/18/17, the first cohort of colleagues gathered for the first AAM Course ---"Humankind and Primal Adler.” Of the six seekers only one has Adlerian training. They represent a fascinating work diversity. The cohort has a physician assistant, two consultants, a published author, a corporate "change manager", and therapist/coach.

The session conducted by John Reardon was highly interactive, contained frequent and noteworthy "self discoveries," and was deeply self disclosing. The work revolved around two Adlerian principles --- the primal development of personality, and the understanding and personal grasp of "inferiority." These were "mapped," "claimed," and applied to a personal case selected by each colleague

It is said that "humor" is a mark of psychological Wellness. That being the case, this is a very healthy tribe. There was an eagerness to learn, and the colleagues walked away with a "resource manual" and 4-5 articles to absorb. All expressed a strong desire to return on 12/16/17.

And so, AAM is alive and moving in our World in another distinct way.

-- John R.
